Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation
Becky Johnson is a nationally-recognized healthy lifestyle promotion, organizational management and public relations expert. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF), a broad-based not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help solve obesity – especially childhood obesity – by encouraging positive and permanent lifestyle changes among school-aged children and their families.
At HWCF, Becky manages the Foundation’s annual budget, maintains and grows the organization’s membership revenue, oversees an annual school grants program and manages a team of staff and consultants.
Becky joined the HWCF in 2009 as the founding staff member and has played an instrumental role in the development and expansion of the organization’s Together Counts™ healthy and active lifestyle school curriculum program that has reached over 46.6 million school students and their families with tools and information to help them achieve and maintain a healthy diet and active lifestyle. She spearheaded the effort to expand the Foundation’s membership from 21 in 2009 to more than 300 corporate and not-for-profit members today.
Her project management and public affairs expertise was honed through multiple leadership positions in the federal government. Prior to coming to HWCF, Becky served as Director of Scheduling and as a Senior Advance Representative for Secretary of Commerce, Carlos Gutierrez.
Becky earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a minor in Public Relations, from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
